Take a drive to Wayanad – the green paradise in God’s own country, where you will be spending a weekend thriller tour. On reaching Wayanad start your sightseeing in an adventurist way by proceeding to ‘Pakshipathalam’ – a location that gives even the most enthusiast trekkers a challenging time!
After obtaining special permission from the concerned forest department (no wonder, as it requires a good trek of about seventeen kilometers thru dense forest to reach this spot!) proceed to Pakshipathalam. You will be totally charged up when the destination is sighted. Here the deep rocky caves, which shelter a variety of birds & other wild species, are a sight to behold!
With a renewed vigor, move towards the next spot – ‘Thirunelli’, abode of a very sacred shrine. Ideally set in the nature’s lap this riverside temple is much sought after by the pilgrims for performing ancestral rites. Unwind yourself from the modernity’s chaos by absorbing into the holistic environs of Thirunelli. Also visit the sacred stream ‘Papanasini’ near the temple (it is believed that a ritual dip here washes off all worldly sins). As the daylight fades, check in to your hotel at Wayanad for overnight stay.
An entire day left for you to discover the unspoiled beauty of Wayanad. Proceed to visit ‘Kuruva Dweep’ – a tiny island lying on the creeks of River Kabini. Enriched with dense forest, Kuruva 
Dweep is a place that still retains its pure natural beauty. Go for trekking through the wild-woods. Watch rare species of birds, orchids and herbs… get absorbed into the energizing non-polluted environs.
Next pay a tribute to one of the greatest heroes in Kerala history, by visiting ‘Pazhassi Tomb’ – a memorial built in a sere location, in honor of the great Pazhassi Raja (the King best known for his valiant resistance against the British rule).
